8 mistakes with PLR

If you don't have the skill, time or leaning to write your own product, PLR articles and ebooks are just what you need.

Ghostwriting is an other option, but if you are just starting out, it might turn out to be beyond your budget. Ebooks and PLR come ready made, but don't be fooled into just putting your name on them and selling them as they are.

Changes have to be made so that you can come up with a worthy product which you can call your own.

Here are the most common mistakes done with PLR: 1. PLR articles or reports used straight out of the bag. Don't just upload your PLR or ebook to your site and try to sell it off to your list. Your PLR is the start of a bigger project.

Changes must be made, changes which you profit from and changes that will deliver a better product to your customers.

2. The ready-made Sales page. Be on the lookout for text usually in red and in brackets, which you need to replace or add to in order to customize the sales page and make it your own.

There is no bigger give away than uploading the ready made sales page to your site without even entering your links or removing the instructions from the page. Even the writing may be changed. A little tweak here and there to give it your touch. Don't be afraid to change it. Usually there is the original writer's story. Change it and insert yours instead if you have one. Make the advantages even more convincing.

Also remember to change the name at the bottom of the page and insert your own.

3. Pictures not changed. If you don't change the pictures, some people will recognize the product. They will also remember seeing it quite a few times and would probably thing it is the same rehashed material they have read before.

That will not convey a feeling of confidence in you or your products.

4. Links not working. Have you ever clicked on links on a sales page and found they do not work? Very frustrating! This seems to happen more often with PLR products for some reason or other.

Check your links to see that they actually take you where you want them to.

5. No additional links inside product. Why have you bought the PLR or ebook? Think what you want it to do for you. It is not simply something that you give away to your list. Point it in a specific direction. You can insert links in the body to other products. Either your products or affiliate products that have a relation to the PLR or ebook you are sending to your customers Come up with a conclusion that is not an ending but rather a beginning to something better, for example a membership site or e-course program. If you don't own such products, then become an affiliate in other people's products, membership sites, launches or coaching programs.

The PLR you purchased should work twice for you, If you are using the PLR article to post to your blog, make sure you include some of your links in it.

Point the article to a product you are promoting, as long as it will be of benefit to your reader.

6. No added value. Just changing the graphics and title is not enough. When someone buys the products, they will soon realize it is the same old product but in different wrapping. Say goodbye to your reputation. What can you do?

Make it worth more, make it more of a bargain. Here are some suggestions:

a. Give more detailed explanation to some of the bullet points.

b. Add more bullet points

c. Include examples or real life stories

d. Add a case study if you have one

e. Screen shots give more credibility to your product

f. Video that show how to work with the product can be added there are various sensible ways to increase the value of your products..

It will certainly take you more time, but it is nothing compared to what it takes to create a new product.

7. Lack of keywords. Don't forget to insert keywords. Your own keywords. Carry out research to find the best longtail (more than one word)keyword phrases. Use them in the title, the sales copy and any articles posted to your blog. Use them anywhere you think is suitable. Take your time.

These keywords will bring organic traffic and increase your sales potential.

8. Uploading it to your website and expecting it to sell After making all the changes mentioned above to the product, you still have to market it. There are various ways to accomplish this - writing and submitting articles to article directories, mailing to your list, pay-per-click, offering it as a special offer on the Warrior Forum, ebay, affiliates and so on.

Get a move on, there is plenty to do. PLR reports and ebooks are just what you need to start if you want a product you can call your own. They are not just for beginners - many marketers have successfully used PLR to create their own products.
